Video Screenings

The best way to see radical video is LIVE with REAL people. Instead of sitting by yourself in front of a box, check out the IMC UK Cinema Page to find out about indymedia video screenings. You might also find out about screenings on BeyondTV or your local social centres.

If
there are no screenings happening in your area then perhaps you would
like to organise your own. Screenings are extrememly powerful, they
inform and inspire and help to bring new people into active
participation in progressive struggles. Get together with a few
friends, find a venue and put on a film screening. There are no
shortage of videos available (see below) and with the European NewsReal
coming out every month, you can be bang up-to-date.

NGV est un projet qui se propose de créer un réseau de canaux de vidéos
indépendants à un cout le moindre possible. Il se développe en se basant sur la
collaboration des personnes qui travaillent à l’intérieur du réseau et
considèrent ce réseau comme un point de départ pour organiser le travail,
echanger connaisances et ressources, et diffuser le savoir nécessaire pour
avancer dans la diffusion de l’information. La vidéo de qualité VHS se publie
localement par le biais d’un PC ; sa distrution s’organise au travers de VHS
ou de CD. Les contenus des vidéos doivent exprimer le mouvement, mouvement qui
se doit d’etre pris avec une conscience critique, reflètant une production de
culture et d’information libres.
Nous pensons que l’information se doit
d’etre autre; pour combattre cela, il est nécessaire d’augmenter
l’efficacité des outils que nous pouvons utiliser directement et/ou créer
rapidement. Sur la base de nos connaissances et expériences propres, nous
désirons réaliser de nouveaux et efficaces modes de diffusion, comme se fut le
cas ces dernieres années dans chacun de nos collectifs.

NGV se base sur l’utilisation de la technologie et du software de domaine
public qui permettent de publier et de copier des vidéos.
Dans le
premier cas, il supose l’utilisation de programmes afin de partager archives
et necessitent de maintenir les videos sur un mode qui permettent une
visibilité maximale dans les différents circuits dans lesquels ils
s’échangent. Dans les archives, il est nécessaire d’indiquer les circuits
utilisés et le serveur où on les trouve. Tous les titres d’archive seront
garantis par des serveurs FTP privés. Les producteurs qui désirent publier du
matériel, en attendant que tous les mechanismes existent pour permettre une
publication ouverte, peuvent se mettre en contact avec ngv@ecn.org
